  • Condition: This original, 1933 (THE MUMMY was released in Sweden on March 11, 1933) Swedish Stolpe (12.5" W x 32.5" H) movie poster exhibits good, light greenish color with solid black images and writing on a very clean background. The flaws that exist do so mostly along the borders. There are 2 tears (1/2" to 3/4" each) on the left outermost border. There is a small (1/4") chip on the left border with minor loss of paper (1/4") to the left of "en". There is minor wear, several very tiny chips, and foxing (brownish spots/lines) along the borders. There is a tiny (1/32") chip with missing paper (1/32") on the bottom right corner tip. There is light foxing in the imprint area (imprint area is described below). There is some intermittent whitish spots in the Title "MUMIEN VAKNAP", which may be a production flaw or intended. There are no pin holes, no tape or tape residue, and no soiling or smudging. There is no loss of color. Medium gloss. Please review the photos carefully.

    THE MUMMY.
    It was used by
    Universal
    to promote this movie when it was released in 1933.   The movie THE MUMMY was originally released in 1932 in the United States, and was not released in Sweden until March 11, 1933 (the same year this Swedish Stolpe was released - see 4th photo).  It is not a reprint nor a reproduction.  The movie stars
    Boris Karloff, Zita Johann, David Manners
    , Arthur Byron, and Edward Van Sloan.  It was directed by Karl Freund.
    This unrestored movie poster is Folded and measures 12.50" x  32.50.
    Most original movie posters that are pre-1985 are Folded.  This is not considered a flaw or defect.  The poster is on a heavier, stronger paper stock than your regular One Sheet original movie poster.
    This original movie poster is graded C7.5, Very Fine Minus.
    Original movie posters are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), C4 (Good), etc.   This poster has a generally clean appearance and is immediately ready for framing and display.  The foxing that appears mostly in the imprint area and along the edges can be expected for an original movie poster that is about 86 years old.  T
    he imprint area is the 5" to 6" at the top that is intentional left blank so that the theater can write or stamp in the show times of the movie, the Theatre's name, or other similar items.
    Please note that on the first picture the bottom quarter of the Stolpe looks more white that light greenish.  I blame myself and the camera exposure I allowed trying to get a more "highlighted" image of the Stolpe.  In the other photos, you can see that the entire Stolpe has a lightish green background that is impacted by some foxing (browning of the background).  In a weird way that foxing is probably appropriate given that it is an original movie poster of THE MUMMY.
