    Description

Vintage original 22 x 34 in. Belgian poster
from the 1920's French silent film drama/romance,
    PARIS, CABOURG, LE CAIRE...ET L'AMOUR
    (
    Paris, Cabourg, Cairo...and Love
    ), released in 1927 and
    directed by Gabriel de Gravone
. The cast includes Alex Allin, Gabriel de Gravone, Madame de Gravone, Renée Faggia, Anthony Gildès, and Jeanne Liezer. Georges (Gabriel de Gravone) removes Geneviève (
    Jeanne Liezer)
from his daughter from boarding school, whom they want to betroth to another ridiculous suitor. He met Geneviève in Cabourg, and then took her to Cairo. Without knowing this, the young girl's father, Georges, Geneviève's alleged fiancé, and Georges' former mistress, go to rub shoulders on the boat, everything is arranged after misunderstandings
This vintage original "pre-war" Belgian poster is a stone lithograph, which features beautiful, rich colors and very fine detail. The image depicts an exterior scene of Georges (
    Gabriel de Gravone
    ) holding an unconscious
    Geneviève (
    Jeanne Liezer
) in his arms as he stands on a hilltop near a stone bridge and a small rural town with a huge mountain in the background. The film was released as
    Rapt
in Belgium. This poster was printed for the film's original theatrical release in Belgium and has the name of the theatre where it was originally shown (Variete) and the play dates professionally printed in the imprint space at the top. This poster is unrestored and unfolded as originally issued. It is in fair condition only with areas of paper loss, small tears, and chips on the borders, and a tear through the "A" in "RAPT" at the bottom. Fortunately, the image area is in outstanding condition and has a small vertical tear in the top of de Graveon's hat. These minor flaws can easily be remedied if the poster were to be linen-backed.
As it is unfolded, it will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube to prevent damage while in transit.
